About Chuys

We are Chuys — the home of bold, authentic Tex-Mex flavors rooted in tradition and served with heart. Since 1982, chuy's legendary recipes have brought people together over sizzling fajitas, hand-rolled enchiladas, and fresh-made salsas in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Chuys Story

Chuys was born in 1982 with a simple but powerful idea: serve unforgettable Tex-Mex food made from scratch, using bold spices and the freshest ingredients available. What started as a small, beloved spot in Austin, Texas quickly grew into a legendary dining experience that fans across the country sought out.

"Our food isn't just a meal — it's a fiesta on a plate. Every dish we serve carries decades of flavor, tradition, and love."

Our Birmingham location brings that same passionate spirit to Alabama. Every tortilla is hand-rolled, every salsa is made fresh daily, and every plate is assembled with pride. Whether you're craving our famous green chile sauce, stacked enchiladas, or crispy tacos, Chuys delivers an experience that goes far beyond food.

We believe great food brings people together. That's why our doors are always open and our portions are always generous. Come hungry, leave happy — that's the Chuys promise.

Bold Flavors

We never compromise on taste. Every ingredient is chosen for its quality, and every recipe is crafted to deliver maximum flavor with every bite.

Fresh Always

No shortcuts. Our salsas, guacamoles, and sauces are made fresh each morning. If it isn't fresh, it doesn't make it to your table.

Chuys is more than a restaurant — it's a gathering place. We support local farmers, events, and initiatives that strengthen our Birmingham community.

Served with Love

Our team's warmth and passion come through in every plate. Hospitality isn't a policy — it's the spirit that defines the Chuys experience.
